A 7 day Egypt tour is long enough for the Giza Pyramids, the Grand Egyptian Museum and the tombs and temples of Luxor, and on most of our packages it also fits a three- or four-night Nile cruise, Abu Simbel or a short stay on the Red Sea. We run thirteen private tours of six to eight days, from $860 per person (double room, October to April) on a budget package that uses sleeper trains to luxury programs with domestic flights and five-star hotels.
This page puts all thirteen side by side so you can pick by budget, route and pace. If you want sample day plans rather than packages, our Egypt travel guide covers those.

Prices are per person sharing a double room from October to April. The three tours marked * are priced by group size instead of season, and the figure shown is the per-person rate for two to four travelers. Each tour page lists single, triple and summer rates.
Every tour above starts with an arrival day in Cairo and ends with a departure day, so a seven-day trip gives you five full days on the ground. The question is what to do with them. Our one-week packages fall into four shapes:
The extra day matters more than it looks. At six days, the Cairo and Luxor tours keep a full day in each city but leave out the river south of Luxor, while Jewels of Egypt reaches Abu Simbel by packing the schedule tightly. At seven days you can add Aswan and Abu Simbel with hotel nights, as on Treasures of the Pharaohs, or a short cruise with flights, as on Best of Egypt. An 8 day Egypt tour is where a cruise fits comfortably: Hathor and Queen Nefertari both give Cairo two separate visits, one before the river and one after, so the Grand Egyptian Museum or the old city comes at the end, once you have seen the tombs in Luxor.
If you are flying from North America, remember the journey itself. EgyptAir’s nonstop flight from New York JFK to Cairo takes about ten and a half hours, and most trips from the US, Canada or Australia involve an overnight flight. An eight-day package often fits a nine- or ten-day absence from work better than a six-day one squeezed around jet lag.
A cruise solves the main problem of a short trip, which is the distance between Luxor and Aswan. The ship moves while you eat and sleep, meals are included on board, and you unpack once for three or four nights. The trade-off is a fixed sailing schedule. Hotel-based tours give you a full-size room and more control over the day, but someone has to drive the river road, as on Treasures of the Pharaohs, or the route has to skip Edfu and Kom Ombo. If the river is the reason you are going, compare our Pyramids and Nile cruise tours and the ships themselves on our Nile cruises page. Travelers who already know they prefer hotels can see all our options on Egypt tours without a Nile cruise.
On a trip this short, transport is where budget and luxury tours differ most. Budget and classic packages use the first-class overnight sleeper train between Cairo and the south, with dinner and breakfast on board. The train saves the cost of a hotel night and a flight, and you arrive in the morning ready to tour, but a berth is smaller than a hotel bed and you lose a little sleep. Luxury packages fly, which keeps evenings free and travel days short. ISIS Dive and Sun and Sea also include long road legs to and from Hurghada. The RA, Sun and Sea and ISIS Dive pages all note that train or road legs can be replaced with flights on request, so ask us for the difference.
A week leaves little slack, so add only what matters most to you:
If the list of extras keeps growing, a longer trip may serve you better. Our 10 day Egypt tours add Abu Simbel, Alexandria or the Red Sea to the same core route, and our 14 day Egypt tours add a full beach week.
All of these tours are private: you have your own English-speaking guide and vehicle for the sightseeing, and only the cruise ship or hotel is shared with other guests. Entrance fees to the sites in each itinerary are included, and on the luxury tours your guide is an Egyptologist. Delta Tours Egypt is a family-run company based in Cairo, and we have arranged travel in Egypt since 1974. Our team is on WhatsApp throughout your trip. For when to go, read our guide to the best season to visit Egypt.

Our six- to eight-day tours start at $860 per person for Anubis and reach $2,850 for the luxury Hathor cruise tour, both in a double room from October to April. Summer rates are a little lower on most of them.
Yes. RA, Queen Nefertari and Hathor include three nights on the river between Aswan and Luxor within eight days, Best of Egypt fits three cruise nights into seven, and Ancient Egypt Revealed spends four nights on the Le Fayan.
Anubis, at $860 per person sharing a double room from October to April, covering Cairo and Luxor by sleeper train. With a cruise, RA starts at $1,065, and with the Red Sea, ISIS Dive starts at $1,044.
For a first visit it usually is. The eighth day lets the route come back to Cairo after the south, so the museums and old city get their own day instead of being squeezed in on arrival. Hathor, Queen Nefertari and RA all work this way.
Yes. Jewels of Egypt, Treasures of the Pharaohs and Best of Egypt include it in six or seven days, and Ancient Egypt Revealed includes it in eight.
No. Each package starts and ends in Cairo, and international flights and the Egypt visa are your own arrangement. Travel between Cairo and the south is included, by sleeper train or domestic flight depending on the tour.
Yes. The guide, the vehicle and the daily schedule are for your party alone. Only the cruise ship or hotel is shared with other guests.
