Treasures of the Pharaohs – 7 Day Luxury Egypt Journey

Tour Overview
This 7 day luxury Egypt tour fits Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and Abu Simbel into one week by letting domestic flights and a private driver handle the long distances. You travel with a private English-speaking Egyptologist, sleep in hotels rather than on a ship, and the entrance fees for every site on the program are already paid.
Who this week suits
The route is built for travelers with limited leave who still want the full arc of ancient Egypt, from the pyramids to the far south. Because pricing is set by group size, it works as well for a couple as for a family or a small group of friends traveling together. If you prefer a fixed hotel room each night to a cruise cabin, or simply do not want to spend days sailing, this is the hotel-based alternative to a Nile cruise program.
How the route fits together
Cairo comes first: the Giza pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum share one day before you fly south. Luxor is covered in a single, full day that joins the West Bank tombs with Karnak on the East Bank. Instead of sailing to Aswan, you drive there in a private air-conditioned vehicle and stop at Edfu and Kom Ombo along the road, which keeps the temples of the river valley in the plan without adding cruise nights. Aswan then becomes your southern base for a full day out to Abu Simbel and a final morning at Philae and the High Dam, followed by a flight back to Cairo. Expect early starts and long sightseeing days; the arrival afternoon is the main stretch of free time.

Where you stay
In Cairo the listed hotel is the Marriott Mena House, set right beside the Giza plateau, so the pyramids are minutes away on your sightseeing day. In Luxor you stay at the Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa. The published hotel list does not name the Aswan property for the two nights there, so ask for it when you book.
Price by group size
Rates fall as the group grows: $3,775 for a solo traveler, $2,310 per person for 2 to 4 travelers, $1,875 per person for 5 to 8, and $1,795 per person for 9 to 16. International flights, the Egypt entry visa, optional tours and tipping are not included.
When to go and what to change
October to April brings the most comfortable temperatures in Luxor and Aswan; in summer the south is very hot, and early starts matter more. Our guide to the best season to visit Egypt covers the trade-offs month by month. If you would rather see the river from the water, the 8 day Ancient Egypt Revealed journey follows a similar route with four nights on a Nile cruise.
Want an extra night in Cairo, a slower pace in Aswan, or a beach finish? We can rebuild this week as one of our tailor-made tours, or you can compare other luxury Egypt tours.
