You will be transferred from your hotel or Nile cruise in Aswan to the airport for a short flight to Abu Simbel. Upon arrival, meet your private Egyptologist and begin your visit to one of Egypt’s most extraordinary monuments.

Explore the magnificent Temples of Abu Simbel, masterpieces of ancient Egyptian architecture built by Ramses II during the New Kingdom. The Great Temple, often known as the Sun Temple, is dedicated to Amun-Ra, Ra-Horakhty, Ptah, and Ramses II himself, while the nearby Temple of Queen Nefertari, devoted to the goddess Hathor, stands as a graceful tribute to royal devotion.

Learn about the remarkable international effort led by UNESCO to relocate the temples in the 1960s, preserving them from the rising waters of Lake Nasser.

Following the visit, return to Abu Simbel Airport for your flight back to Aswan, where you will be met and escorted to your hotel or Nile cruise.
