Tut Treasure is a 6 day luxury Egypt tour of Cairo and Luxor without a cruise. You spend four nights at Marriott Mena House, fly to Luxor for a single hotel night, and see both of Cairo’s major museums with a private Egyptologist.
Why choose a hotel stay over a ship
Not everyone wants three or four nights on the river. Some travelers prefer a fixed room, their own schedule at dinner, or simply have only six days. This itinerary keeps the highlights of Luxor, the royal tombs and Karnak, and drops the sailing days in between. The result is a comfortable trip with only two flights and two hotel stays.
Two museums, one story
Tut Treasure is unusual among our shorter trips in visiting both the Grand Egyptian Museum, home of the Tutankhamun collection, and the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, which traces Egypt from prehistory to the modern era. Put together with the tombs in the Valley of the Kings, they make the trip a good fit for anyone drawn by the name: the boy king’s treasures in Cairo and the valley where he was buried in Luxor.

The published rates for October to April are $1,805 per person in a double, $1,725 per person in a triple and $2,620 for a single room. For May to September they are $1,565 double, $1,565 triple and $2,420 single. Because the Luxor hotel is confirmed when you book, we will reconfirm the rate for your dates in your quote.
Ways to adapt it
- Add a second Luxor night for the Dendera and Abydos day trip or a sunrise balloon flight.
- Prefer to keep costs lower? King Treasure follows a similar route by sleeper train.
- Want the river after all? Hathor adds a three-night cruise in eight days.
A realistic look at the pace
Day 3 is the busiest: an early flight from Cairo, then the West Bank in the same afternoon. The following morning covers the East Bank before the flight back, so you sleep in Luxor only once. Cairo days are steadier, and the final morning is free until your airport transfer. Travelers with mobility concerns should know that the royal tombs involve steps and sloping corridors; tell us in advance and we can advise on tombs with easier access. The best months for this route are October to April, when afternoons in Luxor are manageable.

Meet at Cairo airport upon arrival by a Delta Tours Egypt representative who will assist you through airport customs and formalities. You will be escorted immediately to your hotel by an air-conditioned modern fleet. Meet with your tour guide and tour manager to review your holiday itinerary and confirm pick-up times for each tour.

Later, explore Luxor’s legendary West Bank. Discover the Valley of the Kings, the royal burial ground of Egypt’s New Kingdom pharaohs, where richly decorated tombs were carved deep into the desert cliffs. Continue to the magnificent Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, an architectural masterpiece rising in elegant terraces beneath the Theban mountains.
