Marsa Alam & Cairo
Marsa Alam sits on the southern Red Sea coast, far from the crowds of Hurghada, and its trips lean toward wild reefs, dolphins and open desert. Delta Tours Egypt runs eight excursions from your Marsa Alam hotel: three boat trips to offshore reefs, a semi-submarine ride, two desert evenings, and two ways to see Luxor, plus a day trip to Cairo by plane. Prices start from $55 per person, and every trip includes hotel pickup.

| Dolphin House (Samadai Reef) | Boat and snorkeling | Daily | $80 |
| Hamata Islands snorkeling | Boat and snorkeling | Sun, Tue, Thu | $85 |
| Semi-submarine with a snorkeling stop | Reef viewing | Daily | $55 |

Prices are the starting rates on each tour page. Some depend on group size or season.
Satayh and Samadai are the two reefs known for resident spinner dolphins. The dolphins are wild, so sightings are likely but never guaranteed, and both trips follow the reef’s swimming rules. Satayh is about two hours by boat from Hamata marina and runs three days a week; Samadai, often called Dolphin House, runs every day. If you care more about coral than dolphins, the Hamata Islands trip visits a cluster of small islands and reefs further south.
The semi-submarine lets you see the reef through underwater windows without getting wet, with an optional snorkeling stop for those who want one. It is the lowest-priced trip here and a good first outing with children.
Both desert trips end with dinner at a Bedouin camp. The jeep safari is a passenger ride, so nobody has to drive. On the quad safari you ride your own quad bike out to the camp at sunset. Read the two tour pages side by side if you are choosing between them.
Luxor’s temples and tombs are a long drive from Marsa Alam, so the day trip makes for a full day on the road. The overnight trip spreads the same sights over two days with a night in Luxor, which leaves more time at Karnak, the Valley of the Kings and the West Bank. Our Luxor travel guide explains what each site is like.
Book reef trips a day or two ahead, as boats run on set days. Bring reef-safe sunscreen, a towel and a light layer for the boat ride back. Tell us your hotel when you book so we can confirm the pickup time. For beaches, diving and the wider coast, see our Red Sea travel guide, and if you are still choosing a base, compare Egypt and Red Sea tours.

Both reefs are home to wild spinner dolphins, so sightings are likely but cannot be guaranteed. The boat crews follow the reef’s rules for swimming near them.
Prices start from $55 per person for the semi-submarine trip. Dolphin and island snorkeling trips start from $80 to $85, desert safaris from $69, and Luxor from $129.

Yes. Choose the Luxor day trip from $129 for a single long day, or the overnight trip from $219 to spread the sights over two days with a night in a 5-star hotel.
The semi-submarine trip lets you see the reef through underwater windows without swimming. The desert safaris and Luxor trips need no swimming either.
