Marsa Alam Quad Safari at Sunset with Bedouin Dinner and Show

The Marsa Alam quad safari puts you on your own quad bike for a sunset ride into the Eastern Desert. You ride about 22 km to a Bedouin village, take a camel ride as the sun goes down, then sit down to a barbecue dinner and a folklore show before riding back. It runs every day, and prices start from $69 per person.

What you will do

In the afternoon we drive you from your hotel to the quad-bike station. Before setting off, you take a short test drive to get used to the controls, and a quad-bike guide rides with the group. The route crosses open desert and stops at a viewpoint for the panorama and the sunset.

At the Bedouin village you look around and drink Bedouin tea, then take a camel ride as the light fades. Dinner is a barbecue with mineral water and soft drinks, followed by a folklore show. You then ride back to the station, and we take you to your hotel.

How it differs from the jeep safari

On this trip the quad is your transport out to the village and back. On the Marsa Alam jeep safari, a 4×4 does the driving and the quad ride is a short extra of about 40 minutes. Who this trip suits

It suits travelers who are comfortable driving a quad bike over sand and want an active evening outdoors. The test drive and the guide help first-timers settle in. If you are based further north, a similar ride runs as the Hurghada sunset quad safari with a Bedouin dinner, and in Cairo you can ride a quad on the desert safari by the Giza Pyramids.

• Not included: extras not listed in the program, and tips.
• What to bring: closed shoes, sunglasses, a scarf for the dust, sunscreen and a warm layer for the ride back.
