Tour Overview

The Steigenberger Regency Nile cruise is a modern five-star ship sailing between Luxor and Aswan, with departures on Saturdays and Wednesdays. It offers full board, private guided sightseeing and entrance fees in one fare, and current prices are shown in the price table on this page.

A different weekly rhythm

Most ships in our ultra deluxe fleet leave on Mondays and Fridays or Mondays and Thursdays. The Regency’s Saturday and Wednesday departures are useful if your flights or your Cairo days do not line up with those sailings. That small difference often decides which ship works for a given week, so tell us your dates first and we will check the Regency alongside the others.

Who will like it

The Regency is a modern vessel with comfortable rooms and Nile views, aimed at travelers who want reliable five-star service and a well-run itinerary rather than a showpiece ship. It also belongs to the same group as the Steigenberger Legacy and Steigenberger Royale, so if one is full on your dates, the others are close alternatives.

On the river

Between Luxor and Aswan, ships on this route call at the riverside temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo, and sightseeing in Luxor usually covers the East Bank temples and the Valley of the Kings. Your exact program appears in the itinerary section of this page.

What is covered

  • Airport meet and greet and private air-conditioned transfers
  • Full board on the ship
  • Private tours in Luxor and Aswan with an English-speaking guide
  • Entrance fees to the sites on the itinerary
  • Service charges and taxes

You pay separately for international flights, the visa, optional tours and tips.

Prices and booking

Since the fare includes airport meet and greet and private transfers, the Regency is straightforward for first-time visitors. You are collected on arrival, taken to the ship, and guided at each site, so there is little to arrange beyond your flights and visa. The season for the published rates runs from September to May, the most comfortable time on the river.

Rates depend on cabin occupancy (triple, double or single) and season. See the price table here, then send us your dates so we can confirm the fare and the sailing direction. For background on the route, read our Nile cruise guide, or let us fold the Regency into a tailor-made Egypt tour.
