Tour Overview
The Steigenberger Royale Nile cruise is a 3- or 4-night full-board voyage between Aswan and Luxor, leaving on Mondays and Fridays, with a pool, Jacuzzi, spa and panoramic lounge on board. It belongs to our ultra deluxe Nile cruise collection, and guided sightseeing with entrance fees is built into the fare.
Life on board
The Royale is the choice for travelers who plan to spend real time on the ship rather than just sleep on it. The open-air pool and Jacuzzi sit beside a pool bar, and the panoramic lounge is the place to watch the riverbanks when the afternoon heat makes the deck less inviting. A spa and fitness area round things off, which is useful on a 4-night trip where you may want a quiet hour between temple visits.
Picking a cabin or suite
Accommodation comes as cabins and suites, all facing the Nile. Our published fares are for standard cabins: three people sharing, two sharing, or one person alone. If you would like a suite, ask when you enquire and we will quote it for your dates.
Comparing the two sailings
- 3 nights from Aswan (September to May): $910 per person triple, $990 double, $1,515 single. Good for a short cruise ending in Luxor.
- 4 nights from Luxor (September to May): $1,099 per person triple, $1,177 double, $1,826 single. The better pick if you want time at the Luxor Temple and the West Bank before sailing to Edfu and Aswan.
Included and not included
The price covers airport meet and greet, private air-conditioned transfers, full board on the ship, private guided tours in Luxor and Aswan with an English-speaking guide, entrance fees to the listed sites, service charges and taxes. Flights to Egypt, the visa, optional tours and tipping are extra.
Extending the trip
Best months for the Royale
The published season runs September to May. Spring and autumn are ideal for using the open-air pool and Jacuzzi, while midwinter days are mild but evenings on deck call for a jacket. See our guide to the best time for a Nile cruise.
From Aswan, a flight or road trip to Abu Simbel is the most popular add-on; see our Abu Simbel by air option. In Luxor, a sunrise hot air balloon ride fits on almost any morning. Browse the full Nile river cruises range or the Luxor and Aswan cruise guide for more ideas.
