Tour Overview
The Tulip Nile cruise runs between Luxor and Aswan on a recently refurbished ship with 40 cabins and eight terrace suites, departing on Mondays and Fridays. Choose 3 nights from Aswan or 4 nights from Luxor; full board, private guiding and entrance fees are included in every fare.
Small ship, fresh interiors
After a full refurbishment, the MS Tulip pairs a modern look with a size that keeps things personal. Forty cabins means a relaxed dining room and an uncrowded sun deck. It is a sensible pick for couples and for travelers who find large ships impersonal, and it sits within our ultra deluxe Nile cruises.
Cabin or terrace suite
Standard cabins have panoramic windows and Juliet balconies, so you can open up to the river air. The eight terrace suites go further, with private outdoor seating where you can eat breakfast or read as the banks drift past. Fares below are for cabins; we price suites on request. A gym and sauna are available for anyone keeping up a routine.
What it costs, September to May
- 3 nights from Aswan: $1,251 per person triple, $1,326 double, $2,029 single
- 4 nights from Luxor: $1,525 per person triple, $1,611 double, $2,500 single
Planning around the cruise
The 4-night sailing gives Luxor a full day before you head south, which helps if Karnak and the West Bank are your priority. The 3-night trip is the one to take if you plan an Abu Simbel trip from Aswan first. Either way the ship stops at Kom Ombo and Edfu, and Aswan offers Philae Temple and a felucca ride as easy extras.
Inclusions and exclusions
Included: airport meet and greet, private air-conditioned transfers, full board, private sightseeing with an English-speaking guide, entrance fees to itinerary sites, service charges and taxes. Excluded: international flights, the visa, optional tours, extras and tipping.
Rates run from September to May. With only eight terrace suites, these book out first around Christmas, New Year and Easter, so reserve early if you want the private outdoor seating.
