Tour Overview
The Blue Shadow Nile cruise is one of the newer five-star ships on the Luxor to Aswan route, with a modern look and a livelier evening atmosphere than many of its neighbors. Departures run every Saturday and Wednesday on 3-night or 4-night sailings, with meals, private guided tours and entrance fees included.
A newer ship with more going on
Blue Shadow’s cabins and suites follow a contemporary design, and the ship keeps evenings busy with cultural performances. Days start early for the temples, afternoons are for the sun deck or the spa, and after dinner there is usually something on. That rhythm suits couples and friends who want a social trip, and travelers who would find a very quiet ship a little flat.
Fares from September to April
| Cabin (per person) | 3 nights / 4 days | 4 nights / 5 days |
|---|---|---|
| Triple | $790 | $934 |
| Double | $860 | $1,012 |
| Single | $1,297 | $1,552 |
Summer departures between May and August are quoted on request.
Saturday and Wednesday starts
These departure days differ from the many ships that sail on Mondays and Fridays, which can help when flights or a Cairo stay fix your dates. On most Luxor-Aswan ships, the longer sailing begins in Luxor and the shorter one in Aswan; we confirm the direction for your chosen day when you book. Send us your flight times and we will suggest which of the two days fits better.
Days ashore
Sightseeing in Luxor and Aswan is private, with an English-speaking guide, and the entrance fees for the itinerary sites are part of the fare. Between the two cities, the river passes the temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo, while Aswan offers Philae Temple on its island. Airport meet and greet, private transfers, and service charges and taxes are covered; flights, visa, optional tours and tips are extra.

Many guests combine Blue Shadow with Cairo and the pyramids through our pyramids and Nile cruise tours. To compare ships, see the deluxe Nile cruise collection or all Nile river cruises, and read the Luxor and Aswan cruise guide. For different dates or extra nights, ask for a tailor-made itinerary.
