Tour Overview

The Oberoi Zahra Nile cruise is built around privacy: a select number of cabins and large suites, à la carte dining instead of a buffet line, and a spa with private therapy rooms. It sails between Luxor and Aswan on a 3-night or 4-night program, with private guided visits, entrance fees and full board included.

The case for a small ship

Fewer cabins means fewer people at the gangway, quieter decks and service that remembers your name by the second day. Big windows bring the river into the cabin, and the bathrooms are finished in marble. For travelers who dislike crowded lounges and fixed meal sittings, that difference matters more than any single facility.

Picking between 3 and 4 nights

The 4-night sailing from Luxor costs $750 more per person in a double cabin and gives you an extra night afloat. That buys a slower day on the river, more time at the pool, and less early rising between visits to Edfu, Kom Ombo and the Luxor monuments. If your trip also includes Cairo and the Red Sea, the 3-night option keeps the overall itinerary tight.

Included and not included

  • Included: airport meet and greet, private air-conditioned transfers, full board, private tours in Luxor and Aswan with an English-speaking guide, site entrance fees on the itinerary, service charges and taxes.
  • Not included: international flights, Egypt visa, optional tours, extras and tips.

Before and after the cruise

A night at the Sofitel Legend Old Cataract in Aswan pairs naturally with the Zahra. For Giza and Cairo, see our pyramids and Nile cruise tours. To compare the Zahra with the Oberoi Philae and other boats, visit the luxury Nile cruise collection or the full Nile river cruises page, and our Luxor to Aswan cruise guide explains the route.
