Who this 7 day luxury Egypt tour suits
The program is built for travelers who would rather see a great deal in a week than linger in one place. Abu Simbel is part of the core plan, which many short itineraries leave out, and the cruise covers the stretch of the Nile with the most temples. If you want long afternoons by the pool, a slower plan will suit you better. Because the guiding is private, questions and photo stops follow your interests rather than a group schedule.
How the week is paced
Day 2 pairs the Grand Egyptian Museum with the Giza plateau, a natural order since the museum stands close to the pyramids. Day 3 is the longest: a flight to Abu Simbel, then Philae Temple in Aswan before boarding the ship. The cruise sails north with the current, stopping at Kom Ombo and the Temple of Edfu, and reaches Luxor for the West Bank tombs. The last full day covers Karnak and Luxor Temple before a flight back to Cairo. Domestic flights and private air-conditioned transfers link every stage, so there are no long road journeys anywhere on the route.
Where you stay
Your Cairo base is the Marriott Mena House, set right beside the pyramids, which means a short drive to Giza on your first touring morning. On the river you stay aboard the Le Fayan Nile Cruise, with breakfast, lunch and dinner included on the cruise days, as you move from cabin to temple with very little transfer time.
What you can add or change
An extra night in Luxor eases the final day and leaves room for a sunrise hot air balloon ride over the West Bank. If you would rather avoid a cruise ship, the Jewels of Egypt 6-day journey covers similar ground using hotels. October to April is the most comfortable season for the southern sites.
Need a longer stay in Cairo or a different ship? Our tailor-made tours team can rebuild the week around your dates.
