Tour Overview
The Sonesta Moon Goddess Nile cruise is a smaller five-star ship with 49 cabins, each opening onto a private balcony, plus four presidential suites. It sails between Luxor and Aswan on Mondays and Fridays, for 3 nights from Aswan or 4 nights from Luxor, with full board, guiding and entrance fees included.
The balcony difference
On many Nile ships the cabins have windows only. Here, every cabin has sliding glass doors to its own balcony, so you can sit outside as the riverbanks pass without heading up to a busy sun deck. With just 49 cabins the ship also stays fairly quiet, which suits couples and travelers who value privacy. It is one of the more intimate choices in our ultra deluxe Nile cruise collection.
Presidential suites
The four presidential suites each come with a private lounge. They are a good option for a family that wants a separate sitting area, or for a special trip. Our listed fares are for cabins, so ask us to price a suite for your sailing.
Fares and how to choose
| September to May | Per person |
|---|---|
| 3 nights, Aswan to Luxor | $1,077 triple / $1,147 double / $1,711 single |
| 4 nights, Luxor to Aswan | $1,368 triple / $1,443 double / $2,131 single |
The 4-night trip adds $296 per person in a double cabin. Choose it if you want the Luxor sights, including Hatshepsut’s temple on the West Bank, before sailing to Aswan; choose 3 nights if you are flying out of Luxor afterwards.
Included in the price
Airport meet and greet, private air-conditioned transfers, all meals on board, private sightseeing in Luxor and Aswan with an English-speaking guide, entrance fees for the itinerary sites, service charges and taxes. Flights to Egypt, the visa, optional tours and tips are not included.
Before and after
Balcony cabins come into their own in the cooler months: the published season runs September to May, and mornings in December and January are crisp enough that a private balcony with a hot drink beats the open deck. In spring and autumn you can keep the doors open well into the evening.
Aswan visitors often add Abu Simbel or the Nubian village trip. If your dates are full, the Sonesta Star Goddess from the same Sonesta fleet is a close alternative. More options are on our Nile river cruises page.
