Tour Overview

The MS Salacia Nile cruise is a five-star ship known for spacious, light-filled cabins and suites and for its dining. It sails between Luxor and Aswan every Monday and Friday on 3-night and 4-night itineraries, and costs a little more than most ships in our deluxe range.

Why Salacia costs more

Salacia has a reputation for high standards and careful attention to detail. Its cabins and suites are designed for space and natural light, with clear views of the river, and food is a real focus on board. For travelers who care about what is on the plate and how the cabin feels at the end of a long day at the temples, the extra outlay buys a noticeably more polished stay.

Fares, September to April

Per person 3 nights / 4 days 4 nights / 5 days
Triple cabin $993 $1,285
Double cabin $1,013 $1,313
Single cabin $1,569 $2,048

Note that the triple rate is only $20 to $28 below the double, so sharing as three saves less here than on many ships. Summer fares are quoted on request.

Choosing 3 or 4 nights

Salacia runs both lengths as set itineraries. The 4-night cruise, about $300 more per person in a double, gives an extra day on board to enjoy the dining and the cabin. The 3-night cruise works for travelers who want a taste of the ship within a busy Egypt itinerary.

What comes with the fare

Full-board meals, airport meet and greet, private air-conditioned transfers, private sightseeing in Luxor and Aswan with an English-speaking guide, entrance fees for the sites on the itinerary, and service charges and taxes. Flights to Egypt, the visa, optional tours and tips are extra. Expect visits to major sites such as the Valley of the Kings and Philae Temple; the exact program is sent with your booking.

Comparing and extending

If Salacia is above budget, the other ships in our deluxe Nile cruise collection start lower, and you can browse every Nile river cruise or read the Luxor to Aswan cruise guide. To add Cairo, Abu Simbel or the Red Sea, ask for a tailor-made tour.
