Prices start from $69 per person.

Which Sinai Trip Fits You

One night or one day

If you are staying in Dahab, the Mount Sinai sunrise climb is the classic short trip: you walk up in the dark and reach the summit for dawn. Cruise passengers arriving at Sharm El Sheikh can see St. Catherine’s Monastery on a daytime shore excursion instead, with lunch in Dahab.

Desert and canyons

The two-day Bedouin camp trip and the four-day tour both take you into the canyons and dunes of the interior, with nights at desert camps. The four-day trip adds the Colored Canyon and the Mount Sinai climb, so choose it if you want both landscapes in one trip.

Hiking

The five-day Mount Saint Catherine trek is the most demanding trip here, with long days on foot over rough mountain paths. It suits fit walkers who want more than the single Mount Sinai summit.

Sea and beach

The Dahab and Blue Hole tour mixes snorkeling at Dahab’s famous reef with time in the desert. For a simple beach break, the budget Sharm El Sheikh holiday keeps the focus on the sea, and from Sharm you can add day trips such as Ras Mohammed snorkeling or the semi-submarine.

Practical Tips

Mount Sinai’s summit is cold before dawn in every season, so bring a warm layer, a hat and a torch. Wear proper walking shoes for the climbs and canyons. If you want Sinai as part of a longer trip with Cairo and a Nile cruise, see our Egypt and Red Sea tours, and for the coast itself read the Red Sea travel guide.
