Pyramids Day Trip from Hurghada by Plane: Giza and Saqqara
- 4.9 on Tripadvisor · 88 reviews
- Licence No. 121
Tour Overview
If the pyramids are the reason you want to leave the Red Sea for a day, this private trip focuses on them. Flying from Hurghada saves the long drive and leaves more time for the sites themselves.
The tour starts at Giza, where the Great Pyramid of Khufu stands beside the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure. The Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple sit at the foot of the plateau. Khufu’s pyramid is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing.
The Grand Egyptian Museum and Saqqara
Next to the plateau, the Grand Egyptian Museum holds the complete Tutankhamun collection, the Hanging Obelisk and an 11-meter statue of Ramses II. After lunch at a restaurant with a Pyramids view, the route continues south to Saqqara.
Saqqara’s Step Pyramid of Djoser was built around 4,700 years ago and is often described as the oldest large stone building in Egypt. Its six tiers show how pyramid design began, long before the smooth sides seen at Giza.
This trip suits history lovers who want more than a quick photo at Giza. It also fits travelers who would like to see how pyramid design changed over time. Expect a full day with plenty of walking, so wear comfortable shoes and bring sun protection.
Return flights, Hurghada hotel transfers, a private air-conditioned vehicle, an Egyptologist guide, lunch and entrance fees are included. Tips and extras outside the itinerary are not. Delta Tours Egypt is licensed by Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism (licence No. 121). The Pyramids day trip by plane is priced from $615 per person, and the rate depends on season and group size.
Children pay according to the Delta Tours child policy shown below: ages 6 to 11 pay 50% of the adult price for the same group size and season.
