Tour Overview
Few short trips cover as much of Egyptian history as this one. Over three days and two nights, you fly from Hurghada to Cairo for the Pyramids of Giza, continue by air to Aswan, visit Abu Simbel, and take the train to Luxor before returning to the coast.
Each stop represents a different chapter. Giza holds the pyramids of the Fourth Dynasty and the Great Sphinx, built about 4,500 years ago, and the same day includes the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Egyptian Museum. Abu Simbel is the pair of rock-cut temples of Ramesses II near the Sudan border, moved to higher ground in the 1960s to escape the waters of Lake Nasser. Luxor, ancient Thebes, was the religious heart of the New Kingdom. There you see the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut’s temple, the Colossi of Memnon and Karnak.
This program is for travelers who are staying on the Red Sea but still want to see the country’s best-known monuments. It covers long distances in a short time, so it suits people who are happy with early starts and full days. If you prefer a slower pace, ask us about longer options. A comfortable pair of walking shoes is worth packing, since the Giza plateau and the temple sites involve plenty of time on foot.
We collect you from your hotel in the Hurghada area. Nights are spent at 5-star hotels, one in Aswan and one in Luxor, and a private Egyptologist guide leads each day’s tour. Bring a passport, as it is needed for travel within Egypt, and pack light layers for cool mornings in winter.
The tour is offered by Delta Tours Egypt, which is licensed by Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism (licence No. 121). Prices start from $1165 per person and vary with the season and your group size.
Children pay according to the Delta Tours child policy shown below: ages 6 to 11 pay 50% of the adult price for the same group size and season.

Tour Itinerary
You are transferred from your hotel in the Hurghada area to Hurghada airport for the flight to Cairo. Your private Egyptologist guide meets you on arrival.
At Giza you see the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple, where the funerary rites of Fourth Dynasty kings took place. You then visit the Grand Egyptian Museum beside the plateau, with its full Tutankhamun collection.
Lunch is served at a restaurant with views of the pyramids or the Nile. Afterward you tour the Egyptian Museum in central Cairo, then head to the airport for the flight to Aswan and a night at a 5-star hotel.
The day begins early with a packed breakfast and check-out. Your guide accompanies you to Abu Simbel for a private tour of its two rock-cut temples.
The Great Temple of Ramesses II is fronted by four colossal seated figures of the king and is the setting of the sun festival each February and October. The smaller temple beside it was dedicated to his queen, Nefertari.
Back in Aswan, you have lunch and then board a first-class train north to Luxor, where you spend the night at a 5-star hotel.
After breakfast and check-out, your guide takes you to the west bank. You visit the Valley of the Kings, burial place of New Kingdom rulers, followed by the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon.
Lunch is at a local restaurant in Luxor. Afterward you explore Karnak Temple, the vast precinct of Amun with its Hypostyle Hall and sphinx-lined approach.
At the end of the tour, a modern air-conditioned vehicle drives you back to your hotel in Hurghada.
