2-Day Trip to Luxor from Hurghada: Private Overnight Tour

Tour Overview
A single day in Luxor often feels rushed. This private two-day trip from Hurghada adds a night in the city, so you can see its ancient sites without racing from one ticket gate to the next.
Luxor stands on the site of ancient Thebes, the religious capital of Egypt during the New Kingdom. The east bank holds the great temples of Karnak and Luxor. The west bank was the burial ground of kings, queens and nobles, including the Valley of the Kings. Few places on earth have so many ancient monuments in one area.
Spreading the sightseeing over two days helps in several ways. Mornings and late afternoons are cooler, and the trip can use both. There is also time to rest at midday, which matters in summer. Older travelers and families with children usually find this pace easier than a one-day return. An evening in Luxor also lets you walk along the Nile Corniche or simply rest before the second day.
Good to know
The trip is private, so your party travels on its own with an English-speaking Egyptologist guide. Pickup and drop-off are from hotels in the Hurghada area. Day one covers Karnak, Luxor Temple and the evening Sound and Light Show at Karnak; day two covers the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple and the Colossi of Memnon. The night is spent in a 5-star hotel in Luxor. Pack walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, a change of clothes and your passport.

Tour Itinerary
Your guide meets you at your Hurghada hotel early in the morning, and you drive to Luxor in a private air-conditioned vehicle.
The first stop is Karnak Temple, a vast religious complex built up over many centuries and dedicated to Amun, Mut and Khonsu. From there you continue to Luxor Temple, raised under Amenhotep III and once the focus of the annual Opet festival.
Lunch is served on a Nile island, reached by a short boat ride. You then check in to your 5-star hotel and rest before returning to Karnak in the evening for the Sound and Light Show, which tells the story of Thebes among the floodlit pylons and statues. You spend the night in Luxor.
After breakfast you check out and cross to the West Bank with your guide.
The first visit is the Valley of the Kings, where New Kingdom pharaohs were buried in tombs cut deep into the hills. Next is the terraced Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, built for one of Egypt’s few female rulers. The last stop is the Colossi of Memnon, two huge seated statues of Amenhotep III.
Lunch is at a restaurant overlooking the Nile, and then you drive back to your hotel in Hurghada.
