Tour Overview

The MS Acamar Nile cruise feels more like a private residence than a large ship: an intimate, European-style vessel with discreet service, sailing between Luxor and Aswan. It departs on Mondays and Fridays, 3 nights from Aswan or 4 nights from Luxor, and its fares start lower than most ultra deluxe ships, with full board, private guided tours and entrance fees included.

A smaller, quieter ship

The Acamar’s style draws on classic European tradition, with an emphasis on personal service and well-prepared food over big public spaces. Guests who dislike crowded decks or loud evenings usually appreciate it. The trade-off is fewer onboard facilities than on the largest ships, which matters little on a route where most of the day is spent at temples or watching the banks. It suits couples, older travelers and anyone who would rather read on deck than join a party.

Fares and value

Per person, Sep to May 3 nights from Aswan 4 nights from Luxor
Triple cabin $1,026 $1,225
Double cabin $1,101 $1,311
Single cabin $1,665 $2,019

At $1,101 per person in a double for 3 nights, the Acamar is one of the better-value ships in our ultra deluxe range. June to August fares are quoted on request. The step from 3 to 4 nights adds $210 per person in a double, a modest cost for an extra day on the water and a less rushed start in Luxor. Solo travelers pay a single fare of $1,665 or $2,019, which is lower than the single rate on most ships in our ultra deluxe range.

Which direction

Board in Luxor for the full 4-night sailing south, with Luxor’s temples first and time to settle in. Board in Aswan for the shorter run north, ending in Luxor near the Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut’s temple. Both pass Kom Ombo and Edfu.

Acamar inclusions

The fare covers airport meet and greet, private air-conditioned transfers, full-board meals, private sightseeing in Luxor and Aswan with an English-speaking guide, entrance fees and service charges and taxes. International flights, visas, optional tours and tips are excluded.

Aswan extras for Acamar guests

In Aswan, consider a Nubian village visit or a trip to Abu Simbel. Compare the Acamar with other ultra deluxe Nile cruises and the wider Nile cruise range, or ask us for a tailor-made itinerary that adds Cairo.
