Tour Overview
Two nights of camping give this trip more time in the desert than the usual overnight run. It suits travelers who want to slow down, walk among the rock formations at different hours, and add a visit to Djara Cave.
You start in Cairo, where our representative meets you, and head west. A 4×4 takes you through the Black Desert, with its dark-capped hills, the Valley of Agabat and Crystal Mountain, a quartz ridge beside the road. The first camp is in the White Desert, known for its white chalk towers shaped by wind.
Day two is for Djara Cave, a limestone cave deep in the desert with prehistoric rock carvings of animals on its walls. You return to the White Desert for a second night at camp. On the final morning you watch the formations at sunrise, then visit English Mountain, once a British lookout in the First World War, and the hot springs of Bahariya. From there you drive to Cairo, and we transfer you for your flight.
