Tour Overview
The DWA is a Nile cruise ship operating between Luxor and Aswan. You can sail south from Luxor over four nights or north from Aswan over three. Both programs run on full board, and an Egyptologist leads every visit ashore.
The longer trip leaves Luxor every Monday. After Karnak and Luxor Temple, you cross to the West Bank for the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut’s terraced temple and the Colossi of Memnon. The ship then sails to Esna. Edfu and Kom Ombo follow, and that evening there is a Galabia party on board. Aswan brings Philae, the Unfinished Obelisk, the High Dam, a felucca ride and a Nubian show. The program closes with Abu Simbel before your flight.
The shorter trip boards in Aswan every Friday. It opens with Philae, the Unfinished Obelisk, the High Dam and a felucca sail. Kom Ombo comes next, with a night in Esna. You then see Esna Temple, Karnak and Luxor Temple, and the evening ends with a belly dance show. The final morning is spent on Luxor’s West Bank before you transfer out.
What the fare covers
Meals follow the day-by-day plan, and afternoon tea is served on the sundeck on the southbound sailing. A licensed English-speaking Egyptologist guides a shared group of roughly 15 to 20 guests. Transfers, standard site tickets, the Edfu carriage, the boat to Philae and bottled water on excursions are covered. Drinks, flights, visas and tips are not.
The DWA suits first-time visitors who want the main temples in a short, guided format. Pick Monday for the extra night and the stop at Edfu. Pick Friday if your time is tight. The fare is quoted on request, because it depends on your dates, cabin and season. Send us your travel dates and we will come back with a quote.
