Tour Overview
Marsa Alam lies far down the southern Red Sea coast, a long way from Cairo by road. Flying is the practical way to fit the capital’s best-known sights into a single day. This private trip covers the Giza plateau and the Grand Egyptian Museum, then flies you back to the coast.
A private English-speaking Egyptologist guides you all day. At Giza you see the Pyramids, the last survivor of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. You also visit the Great Sphinx and the nearby Valley Temple, built of massive granite and limestone blocks. Lunch is served at a local restaurant in Cairo.
The afternoon belongs to the Grand Egyptian Museum, close to the pyramids. Its collection includes the treasures of Tutankhamun, among them objects from his tomb. The day also includes shopping stops in Cairo.
Expect a full day, since all the sightseeing fits between two flights. Your guide manages the timing on the ground, so you can focus on the sites. Touring privately also means you can ask questions and move at a pace that suits your group.
